23 year-old Mario Ferrero was killed while serving in Baqubah, Iraq. He was delivering toys to Iraqi children when a suicide bomber detonated his device, killing Ferrero, two other soldiers, and seven children.

In an effort to keep his memory alive, his family organized a group called Mario’s Soldiers–a group that focuses on serving underpriveleged children.
